All That Remains: Part 7Charlotte burst through the door, breathing heavily as she quickly looked around the bar in a bit of a mad panic, expecting to find the place in ruins she was pleasantly surprised to see that it just looked like any other night, if anything it looked better than any other night since the place looked much cleaner. All That Remains: Part 7 by Clazzeh
She was soon Followed by Veritas who also took quick stock of the state of the bar, both concern and surprise making an odd expression materialize on her face. They both stood in the door side by side, neither saying a word as they tried to get their breath back as they had been running for quite a while..
They got some curious glances from the few remaining patrons of the evening, who probably knew just why the pair where red in the face. Of course it was due to the event earlier on, having heard Angelo's version of events through a friend of a friend of Charlotte's they had rushed back fearing the worst.
Veritas quickly marched up to the bar, not being as worn as Charlotte
All That Remains part 6Firnis looked out over his work with some pride, it hadn't taken him too long after the others had left to get everything in order as all the place needed really was a good sweep and some cannibalizing of old broken furniture to repair the almost broken stools and tables. He wasn't able to do much regarding the jukebox as he didn't have any tools on hand to open it up. Which was something of a shame, but he didn't dwell on it. After all he had other things to do before he would consider both this bar, and himself, ready to serve anyone. All That Remains part 6 by Clazzeh
He scrubbed and cleaned the bar's surface, trying to clear away as many of the old stains and dust that seemed to have accumulated that he could, noting several gouges and scratched in images that would have surely been the work of some drunks idle hands, once he finished with cleaning off the bar he finally took a moment to sit down. Using a stool behind the bar he sat staring at a large chalkboard with prices written on it, and began to commit it to m
All That Remains Part 5Charlotte and Veritas left All That Remains, Veritas glancing back over her shoulder every so often as though afraid the place may burst into flames since they had left Firnis, a stranger by her standards, alone and in charge while they where out, even though he would probably just wander off after an hour of work she still worried, more for Charlotte's sake than anything else. All That Remains Part 5 by Clazzeh
However Charlotte herself walked on seemingly lost in thought, not even noticing Veritas' doubt, she was too focused on her own troubles, trying to remember just when the "deal" bringing that man to this realm took place and how.
They walked in silence for a while before Veritas began to take note of Charlotte's less than enthusiastic demeanor. The moment she did her concerns for the inn where forgotten as she began instead to be concerned for her friend. "Is something amiss?" She inquired, concern clear in her voice and her expression.
Charlotte took a moment to respond, gathering her thoughts before repl
All That Remains part 4Firnis was clearly less than pleased as he sat at the bar of All That Remains, using one hand propped upon the dust coated surface of the bar to rest his head as he sighed exasperated whilst tapping one of his feet impatiently. His clear displeasure was a bit unnerving to say the least, even so to Veritas who leaned against a nearby wall who was watching with pity as Charlotte attempted to explain herself. All That Remains part 4 by Clazzeh
Charlotte stood behind the bar, to give her face or any aspect of her apt description would be immensely difficult for the hooded robes she wore, the long white robes where many sizes too large for her it seemed as they covered her entirety, making even her body beneath near impossible to make out, all Firnis could figure out was she must be rather petite, being a head smaller than Firnis.
The arms of this robed "demon" where gesturing wildly as she shot out excuse after excuse for the state of her inn. "I haven't had customers, and its hard work in these robes, and I've just been bu
All That Remains Part 3Firnis and Veritas had been walking for several hours to say the least, having nothing else to do but speak to each other they did become quite familiar. After a couple of hours, Veritas decided they where taking too long, so she stopped and hired a simple carriage pulled by what seemed to just be regular horses to get them to their location at a faster pace. All That Remains Part 3 by Clazzeh
The buildings didn't seem to change much as they traveled, becoming a long blur of grey stone that Firnis had previously found interesting to look at, and they where quite exquisite buildings but looking at anything for several hours would normally become quite a bore so they focused more on their conversations.
Veritas sat on one end of the wooden carriage, leaning an arm against the window and looking intently at Firnis as he told her what he knew about intercontinental travel in the human world. Veritas it appeared, was just as interested in information about the human world, which Firnis was happy to provide, as Firnis was abo
All That Remains Part 2To fall is terrifying, at least when you fall and can see where you are going to land, however this was not an issue in Firnis' case. After being shoved he had fallen for several minutes. Slipping between the gaps between the bridges leading to the central tower. Only then to fall down towards more even lower down. All That Remains Part 2 by Clazzeh
It was akin to falling into a hole in the floor, only to suddenly be falling from the sky once again, it was an odd sensation that was so surreal it would rob even the most terrified person of their fear of falling for just a moment, however his descent didn't stop at the next level, slipping between the gaps time and time again.
As he fell for what seemed an eternity he took note of his surroundings, each "floor" he descended seemed to be from a different era to the last, like taking a step back in time every time he reached a new one. Even the central tower seemed to change its architecture as he fell, at the beginning it was more like a large skyscraper used as an o
All That Remains Part 1What sort of end do you ask for?All That Remains Part 1 by Clazzeh
A strange question to begin, but it is important as it is a hard question to answer. How could someone live happily with others, and die surrounded by their friends only to know their mourning shall follow their end, but in the same breath to die alone is equally an unappealing idea.
To pass for ideology or religion?
I suppose to some this is an answer, but pray tell, when that time comes can you truly not foresee yourself wishing to see the morrow and know just what your end accomplished? However, the end and truth that I stumbled upon lend more validity to these than to anything else.
After all morality is determined by your ideology and maybe the religion you where born with right? You go against that and you are "evil", to follow suit you are "good" regardless of if you give money to a beggar or tear a mans throat out with your teeth, heh, though I may be getting ahead of myself. Especially considering my more unique perspective, mayhap it is tim
